Iron Ore Sourcing of Standalone Pellet Plants Nearly Doubles in Aug’16

Standalone pellet plants iron ore sourcing doubled almost from 0.27 MnT in Jul’16 to 0.42 MnT in Aug’16.

BRPL increased iron ore sourcing by 22% M-o-M – Brahmani River Pellets increased its iron ore sourcing from 0.18 MnT in Jul’16 to 0.22 MnT in Aug’16. The pellet maker was majorly seen sourcing ore from Odisha merchant miners namely – KJS Ahluwalia, KN Ram and MESCO. Its pellet exports moved up by 19% M-o-M to 0.19 MnT in Aug’16. Apart from this, it also supplied four rakes to Bhushan Steel last month.

Arya Iron & Steel raised iron ore sourcing by 13% in Aug’16 – The pellet maker raised its iron ore sourcing by 13% M-o-M to 0.05 MnT in Aug’16. The pellet maker was majorly seen sourcing ore from Odisha merchant miners namely – KN Ram, AMTC and MESCO. Last month the pellet maker supplied 13 rakes in the domestic market.

Iron ore sourcing of OMM-Adhunik remained nil. The pellet maker has not made any offers in the domestic market last month. However, the pellet maker has recently resumed pellet sales in domestic market over sharp hike in P-DRI prices.

KIOCL resumed iron ore purchases – Export oriented unit – KIOCL resumed iron ore purchases from NMDC (C.G.) after a span of 20 months. The pellet maker sourced around 11 rakes of iron ore fines from NMDC (C.G.) for its upcoming pellet export shipment. Apart from this, the pellet maker has recently imported two vessels of iron ore from Brazil and Iran respectively in Sept’16.

MSPL’s iron ore sourcing increased sharply – MSPL procured nearly 0.11 MnT iron ore fines (Fe 64-65%) from Karnataka e-auctions in Aug’16 against its purchase of 16,000 MT fines in Jul’16.
