Iran’s Steel Production Rise Around 8% Y-o-Y

Iran’s steel output stood was recorded at 43.28 MnT during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (21 Mar’19 – Feb’20) to register a Y-o-Y rise of 7.96%. The figure includes both semi-finished and finished steel output.

According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association’s latest report, semi-finished steel made up 24.93 MnT of the total output, up 10% Y-o-Y. Billet and bloom production was recorded at 15.33 MnT while that of slab was at9.59MnT to register an 18% Y-o-Y rise and 1%Y-o-Y decline respectively. Direct-reduced iron production stood at 25.44 MnT during the 11-month period, indicating an 5% rise Y-o-Y.

Meanwhile, finished steel output was recorded at 18.35 MnT to book a Y-o-Y growth of 5%

— Long steel products had the major share in finished steel production with 9.25 MnT, up 6% Y-o-Y. Rebar had the major share in the category with 7.48 MnT (up 5% Y-o-Y

— While, flat steel production reached 9.09 MnT by posting a 5% Y-o-Y rise. HRC production was recorded at 7.51 MnT by registering a Y-o-Y growth of 3%
