As per the data by IMIDRO, Major Iranian steelmakers managed to export around 420,944 MT of Steel in 1st month of current Persian year (21 Mar-20 Apr’18). Export increased by around 6% Y-o-Y against 397,117 MT exported last year in same period.
South Kaveh Steel (SKSCO), the Largest Steel Exporter in Iran
South Kaveh steel (SKSCO), was the largest exporter of steel in the first month of current year. The company exported around 137,000 MT steel in current Persian year. Major products exported by SKSCO includes billet (127,000 MT) and DRI (10,000 MT).
Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) Export Decreases by 21% Y-o-Y
Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) was the second largest exporter during the period, the company exported around 131,812 MT steel during the period. The company witnessed a drop of around 21% Y-o-Y against 108,900 MT steel exported last year same period.
Bloom has the major share in KSC’s export, the company exported 69,025 MT in current Persian year, registered a drop of 14% Y-o-Y. Another major product exported by KSC during the period were billet and slab. The company exported 59,793 MT and 2,994 MT respectively.

MSC Export Decreases by 23% Y-o-Y
Mobarakeh Steel Company, one of the largest steel producer together with its subsidiary company Saba steel has exported 38,782 MT steel including hot and cold-rolled, acid-washed, tin-plated, coated, Carved HR Plate and Sheet and galvanized flat steel. Export during the current Persian year was down by 23% Y-o-Y.
Hormozgan Steel Company exported around 44,744 MT in current year, down by 14% Y-o-Y. The company only exported slab during the period.
ESCO Exports Decreases by 11% Y-o-Y
Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) steel export decreased by 11% Y-o-Y. The company exported 55,808 MT steel in current Persian year, mainly rebar (10,145 MT), beam (5,025 MT), Wire Rod (1,990 MT) and other steel (38,648 MT).
Among other major exporters of steel during the period, Khorasan Steel exported around 7,347 MT rebar during the period, Iran Alloy Steel Co. exported 4,108 MT rebar in current Persian year and Oxin Steel exported 1,343 MT steel in first 1st month of current Persian year.
