Iran’s Finished Steel Production Up 7% Y-o-Y Growth

Iran’s finished steel output was recorded at 15.16 MnT in first nine months of Iranian year to register a Y-o-Y rise of 7%., according to Iranian Steel Producer’s Association. During the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Dec. 21), the country’s production of semis and finished reached 34.8 MnT to register a Y-o-Y growth of 5.98%

According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association’s latest report, semi-finished steel made up 19.64 MnT of the total output, up 5% Y-o-Y. Billet and bloom production was recorded at 11.6 MnT while that of slab was at 8.04 MnT to register an 11% Y-o-Y rise and 2%Y-o-Y decline respectively.

 

Flat steel products had the major share in finished steel production with 7.53 MnT, up 5% Y-o-Y. HRC production was recorded at 6.25 MnT by registering a Y-o-Y growth 3%, followed by CRC with 1.96 MnT (up 4% Y-o-Y) and coated coil with 1.24 MnT (up 19% Y-o-Y).

While, long steel production reached 7.62 MnT by posting a 10% Y-o-Y rise. Rebar had the major share in the category with 6.18 MnT (up 9% Y-o-Y), followed by beams with 822,000 MT (up 14% Y-o-Y) and L-beam, T-beam and other types with 621,000 MT (up 11% Y-o-Y).

Direct-reduced iron production stood at 21.43 MnT during the nine-month period, indicating an 8% rise Y-o-Y.
