During the first nine months of current Iranian year (March 21- Dec 21), the country’s exports or finished and semi-finished stood at 7.8 MnT to book a Y-o-Y growth of 40% Iranian Steel Producers Association data shows.
Semi-finished steel exports were recorded at 5.06 MnT to book the share of 64.95% in exports volume. Billet and bloom had the major share in semis exports at 3.52 MnT to mark 54% Y-o-Y rise. Slab followed the list with 1.54 MnT, up 12% Y-o-Y.
Exports of finished steel products book 27% Y-o-Y rise to reach 2.72 MnT. Long steel products had the biggest share of 76.1% in finished products exports with 2.07 MnTand registered a Y-o-Y rise of 41%.
Rebar exports were recorded at 1.75 MnT to book a Y-o-Y rise of 55% followed by L-beam, T-beam and other types with 173,000 MT (up 24% Y-o-Y) and beams with 146,000 MT (down 26% Y-o-Y).
Meanwhile, the flat steel product exports were recorded at 654,000 MT, down 4% Y-o-Y.Hot-rolled coil grabbed the biggest share in the category with 425,000 MT to witness a Y-o-Y decline of 20%. While coated coil exports was at 130,000 MT, up 4% Y-o-Y, and cold-rolled coil with 99,000 MT, up by 267% Y-o-Y. Exports of direct-reduced iron increased 91% Y-o-Y to 823,000 MT.
KSC continues to remain the largest exporter –With around 1.37 MnT of exports during the 9-month period under review, Khouzestan Steel Company was labelled with Iran’s biggest steel exporter. However, the mill experienced a Y-o-Y decline of 17% during the nine months to 21Dec’19, data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization show.
Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC), stood the second biggest exporter during the nine-month period as with 1.1 MnT of exports, up 47% compared to last year’s corresponding period.
Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) booked the third spot in the list with 881,752 MT of exports during the nine months, up 30% compared to last year’s corresponding period.
