Iran Steel Export Increases by 27% Y-o-Y during 8 Months

As per the data released by IMIDRO, Iran managed to export around 4.56 MnT of Steel in first eight months of current Persian year (March 21 – November 21, 2017). Export were up by around 27% Y-o-Y against 3.57 MnT exported last year in same period. Better realization of USD is motivating Iranian producers to focus more on global market. 1Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) was the largest exporter during the period, the company exported around 1.73 MnT steel during the period. The company witnessed a growth of around 57% Y-o-Y against 1.10 MnT steel exported last year same period. KSC majorly exported Bloom (829,168 MT), Billet (474,258 MT) and Slab (431,957 MT) during the current Persian year.

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) steel export risen by 85% Y-o-Y. The company exported 742,375 MT steel in current year, mainly rebar (103,717 MT), beam (72,195 MT), coil (39,963 MT) and other steel (526,500 MT).

Hormozgan Steel Company exported around 777,900 MT in current year, witnessed a growth of 5% Y-o-Y. The company only exported slab during the period.

Mobarakeh Steel Company, one of the largest steel producer exported 727,381 MnT steel including hot and cold-rolled, acid-washed, tin-plated, coated, checkered and galvanized flat steel. Export during the current Persian year was down by 41% Y-o-Y.
