Iran’s South Kaveh Steel (SKS) has started production at its new 1.2 mn t/year plant that will double its capacity to 2.4 mn t/year. SKS’ current billet exports of 70,000 t/month are expected to rise up to 100,000 t with the new plant. Similarly, the company’s semis exports, which account for 18% of Iran’s total exports, are set to receive a boost.
