South Kaveh Steel (SKS), one of major steel plant in Iran had offered 3,000 MT of 150*150 mm billet at IME for the base price of IRR 17,600/KG (USD 421/MT) excluding 9% VAT which is considered as very low price for domestic offerings.
SKS managed to sell 6,000 MT for about IRR 18,050/KG (USD 432/MT) excluding 9% VAT due to high demand. As per market sources “there are a lot of objectives regarding their price, but it seems they are in debt and they needed to sell the cargo”.
Domestic billet 150*150 mm is hovering around IRR 19,700 – 19,900/KG (USD 471-476/MT), whereas 125*125 mm is around IRR 19,600/KG (USD 469/MT).
SKS exported 458,000 MT Billet in first eight months of current Persian year. The company didn’t exported billet in last Persian year. SKS produced 545,465 MT billet in first eight months of current Persian year.
