Iran Semi-Finished Steel Production Inch Up

Iran was reported to be the world’s 10th largest steel producer of steel in 2018 with crude steel  output of 25 MnT.

The country produced a total of 1.75 MnT of slab, bloom, billet and ingot during the 1st month of current Persian Year (21 Mar-20 Apr). The output was up 1% against previous year. Below are some prime producers of semi finished steel.

Mobarakeh Steel Company, with its subsidiaries Saba and Hormozgan Steel, was the largest producer with 826,540 MT (down 4% Y-o-Y). KSC stood 2nd  with 325,902 MT (down 5% Y-o-Y), followed by ESCO with 202,330 MT (down 4% Y-o-Y), South Kaveh Steel Company with 101,029 MT (up 10% Y-o-Y), Khorasan Steel Company with 97,933 MT (up 7% Y-o-Y), Chadormalu Steel Company with 87,626 MT (up 31% Y-o-Y), Arfa Iron and Steel Company with 77,000 MT (up 31% Y-o-Y) and Iran Alloy Steel Company with 39,558 MT (up 63% Y-o-Y).

This year, Iran’s steel production capacity stands at 34 MT, Industry Ministry of Iran reported.  While, crude steel production of the country has registered a growth of 17.7% in 2018 against last year.
