Iran Semi Finished and Finished Steel Production Increased during Current Persian Year (21 March till 22 October, 2017)
With the recent survey released by Iranian Steel Producers Association and report published by Chilan Online, it is reported that Iranian steelmakers produced around 11 MnT of Steel in first 7 months of current Persian year (21 March till 22 October, 2017). The production is up by 10% Y-o-Y against 10 MnT produced during the same period but last year. Government owned steelmakers produced around 6.8 MnT steel whereas Private steelmakers produced around 4.53 MnT of steel in current Persian year.
As per the data, the production of Beam and Rebar decreased by 5% Y-o-Y owing to construction stagnation in the country.
According the data, the nation produced around 12.25 MnT of semi-finished steel in current year, registered a growth of 14% Y-o-Y against 10.74 MnT produced last year. Government owned steelmakers produced around 9 MnT of semi-finished steel where as private steelmakers produced around 3 MnT in current Persian year.
Production of DRI during the first seven months of current Persian year was noted around 12.60 MnT, registered a growth of 19% Y-o-Y against around 10.60 MnT produced in last year. Government owned steel companies contributed around 9 MnT whereas private steelmakers produced around 3.64 MnT in last year.
