Iran: Iron Ore Production Increases by 20% Y-o-Y

Iran, one of the largest producer of Iron ore has produced 11.22 MnT of iron ore concentrate during the first three months of the current Persian year (March 21-June 21), registered a growth of 20% Y-o-Y.

According to the data released by Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Golgohar Mining and Industrial Complex produced 4.39 MnT, followed by Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex with 2.2 MnT.

Other major producers includes Middle East Mines and Mining Industries Development Holding Company with 1.31 MnT, Iran Central Iron Ore Company with 1.37 MnT, Goharzamin Iron Ore Company with 1.10 MnT, Opal Parsian Sangan with 659,392 MT and Jalalabad Iron Ore Company with 168,172 MT.Production of granulated iron during the period was 1.43 MnT, up by 22% Y-o-Y.

Pellet production recorded to be around 9.46 MnT, up by 22% Y-o-Y. Golgohar was the largest producer of pellet with 3.22 MnT, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company with 2.02 MnT, Khouzestan Steel Company with 1.74 MnT, MIDHCO with 1.27 MnT, Chadormalu with 1.04 MnT and Khorasan Steel Company with 151,572 MT.

Major steel manufacturers of Iran has produced 5.19 MnT DRI during first three months of current Persian year. Production was up by around 7% Y-o-Y. Mobarekah Steel was the largest manufacture of DRI in Iran during the current Persian year, the company produced 1.82 MnT DRI, registered a downfall of 8% Y-o-Y.

Khouzestan Steel was the second largest DRI producer during the current Persian year. The company produced 922,901 MT DRI in current year by registering a downfall of 14% Y-o-Y. Other major producers includes HOSCO (453,256 MT), South Kaveh Steel (325,181 MT), Khorasan Steel (350,836 MT) and Saba Steel (313,701 MT).
