Iran: Billet, rebar edge higher on tight supply despite global softness

  • Iranian billet rose by 500 rial/kg ($1/t) to 364,500 rial/kg ($866/t) as compared to 17 Nov’25, and rebar increased by 1,000 rial/kg ($2/t) to 430,000 rial/kg ($1,022/t).
  • However, globally, markets stayed weak with limited movements across scrap, billet, slab, and HRC.
  • Domestically, mills continued to have limited material and preferred cash sales only, but weak demand and global softness may push more material into the local market.
