Infograph: Brazil Iron Ore Exports Fall 12.7% Y-o-Y in CY19

Brazil iron ore export fell by 12.7% Y-o-Y to 310.4 MnT in CY19 amid Vale’s Brumadinho dam disaster in Jan’19.

–Brazil’s highest iron ore importer China has observed its iron ore import volumes decline by 11.1% Y-o-Y from 224 MnT in CY18 to 199 MnT in CY19.

–Figures for iron ore export volumes dropped due to continuous supply disruptions dating back to the January disaster impacted major iron ore importing countries; Japan (19.8%, 12.4 MnT), South Korea (20.2%, 7 Mnt), Netherland (20%, 11.3 MnT).

–Bahrain, Oman and Malaysia have observed rise in their import volumes by 25%, 5% and 30% Y-o-Y respectively.
