Induction Furnaces in Mandi Gobindgarh have decided to go on
a 3-day strike w.e.f. 15th May to protest the hike in merchant
power rates.
The announcement of the strike is an outcome of the meeting
that was held today by manufacturers to discuss the current market scenario.
Cost of Power offered by private players will now cost Rs
6.60/unit which was earlier Rs 5.60/unit.
According to market players, “the power rate of the
private players has gone up by 80 paise to 1 Rupee/unit. So, most of the
Induction Furnaces in Mandi Gobindgarh have decided to protest it by going on a
3-day strike”.
