Indonesia's Scrap Imports Witnessed a Sharp Increase in April

According to Sources, Indonesia's scrap imports has witnessed an increase of 77% on Y-O-Y basis. It has imported 230,000 MT of scrap in April '13.

Meanwhile, 57,000 MT of scrap was imported from the US with an increase of 300%, followed by Australia which is importing 50,000 MT, up by 62 %  and Singapore importing a quantity of 22,000 MT, up by 36% as compared to the previous year of the same month.  

 

On the other hand, Indonesia's scrap imports from Jan '13 to April '13 amounted to 826,000 MT which is increased by 50% on Y-o-Y basis. 

US, which is the largest exporter of scrap to Indonesia, exported 221,000 tons, witnessed an increase of 334%, followed by Australia, the second largest with 155,000 tons, increasing by 109% and Singapore, the third largest with 97,000 tons, up  by 58%, on Y-O-Y basis.
