- Indonesia’s Dexin Steel has started continuous casting of steel slabs on 28 Jun’21 from its blast furnace No.2 (commenced on Feb’21), SteelMint learnt from an official release. The addition of slabs to billets, wire rods and reinforcing bars already in production is expected to boost Dexin’s competitiveness in Indonesia’s domestic and overseas markets.
- Dexin Steel’s capacity with its two blast furnaces is expected to be around 4 mn t per year. With the addition of the third blast furnace in Dec’22, the full operating capacity is expected to reach 6 mn t per year.
- PT Dexin Steel Indonesia is a joint venture between Delong Steel, Tingshan Holdings, Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park and Hanwa Group, established in Aug’17.
