Indonesia’s one of the largest coal miners, Bumi Resources expects that Indonesian thermal coal (mid-CV) prices would remain in the range of $87-104/t this year as against $67/t in 2021 and $44/t in 2020. However, in a latest update to investors, the company added that it expects coal production costs in 2022 to reach $34-$37/t, lower than the cost of $37.1/t seen in 2021 but higher against $30/t in 2020. This is mainly due to higher oil prices, coupled with costlier equipment spare parts.
