Indonesian thermal coal prices rise on global cues, Chinese demand

Indonesian thermal coal prices continued to rise this week as sanctions on Russia kept global prices higher. Demand trickling in from Chinese power utilities supported Indonesian export prices as Chinese coal prices edged higher on limited portside stocks. Indonesian coal import tenders by a few Chinese utilities are likely to rise in the short term due to the scheduled spring maintenance of the Daqin railway line.
