Indonesian thermal coal prices rise amid uncertainty over export ban

Prices of different grades of Indonesian thermal coal registered a rise of up to $2/t, w-o-w, as uncertainty still prevails after the country lifted the coal export ban on 20 Jan’22. The government has released vessels that have met 100% DMO. However, it would take time for supplies to normalise as the sellers would have to fullfill old contracts first, which happens to be supporting prices.
