The Indonesian thermal coal index for all grades extended its rally by $6-15/t, as tight coal supply in Indonesia persisted with spot cargoes booked till Dec’21. China had been buying Indonesian coal in huge quantities for the winter season amid domestic shortage and supply disruptions from Russia and Mongolia. 5800 GAR coal prices rose by $15/t, w-o-w, to $216.6/t. 4200 GAR coal was traded at $210/t.
