Indonesian: Coal Market may remain Stagnant till August First Week

SteelMint has assessed that Indonesian coal spot market have not shown any movement owing to Ramadan month. Production from mines also remains stagnant as they are completing their pre-booked orders.

On account of implementation of taxes on coal export or ban issue, Indonesian sources have refused on any export tax or ban on coal. They may work on the quota system in order to secure domestic supplies.

Indonesia has consumed around 75 MnT of coal and this year it is projected to consume 80MnT. Indonesia is estimated to produce around 297 MnT of coal which is 7 MnT more from last year.

Indonesia has exported around 215 MnT of coal last year. Whereas, this year it is estimated to export around 217 MnT.
