The Indonesian thermal coal index for high-CV 6500 GAR coal has risen further this week by $2/t, w-o-w, to $140/t FOB amid strong demand from China and tight supplies from Indonesia. Heavy rainfall at key mining regions continued to disrupt loading and coal production. The price of 5800 GAR and 4200 GAR coals also moved up by $2/t each to $128/t and $77/t FOB, respectively. However, various grades are heard being sold at a premium of $3-4/t above the index price, market participants informed.
