Indonesian thermal coal prices rose $8/t w-o-w amid increasing enquiries from major importing nations, with the country’s government lifting the export ban from 171 domestic companies. Prices for 6500 GAR coal were at $166/t while 5000 GAR coal was assessed at $103/t FOB. Traders, however, expect the supply disruption to spill over to Feb’22, with miners prioritising despatches to fulfill old contracts.
