Indonesia: Steel billets imports rise over 50% m-o-m in Sep’22

Indonesia’s steel billets imports rose by 52.2% m-o-m to 362,841 t in Sep’22 against 238,391 t in Aug, as per customs data.
Oman was the largest exporter with 136,647 t followed by Russia with 91,286 t.
Cumulative import volumes inched up by 4% y-o-y to 2.52 mnt in Jan-Sep’22 as against 2.42 mnt in the same period last year.
