Indonesia, the world's largest exporter of power- station
coal, raised the monthly benchmark price for sales in February by for the first
time since October, according to data released by the energy ministry.
The cost of coal with a gross energy value of 6,322 kilo-
calories per kilogram was set at $111.58 a metric ton on a free- on-board (FOB)
basis at vessel i.e. up by 2% from $109.29 a ton in January, the Directorate
General of Coal and Minerals at the ministry in Jakarta said today in a
statement on its website.
