Indonesia’s largest steelmaker Krakatau Steel has launched a new hot strip mill (HSM-2) on 21 Sep’21.
- The annual production capacity of the new mill is 1.5 mn t of HRC.
- Trial production began in early May.
- Manufacturer’s annual HRC production capacity increases to 3.9 mn t.
- Expansion to boost the Indonesian government’s import substitution programme by 35% in 2022.
