Indonesian steel making company Krakatau Steel has announced to have achieved the record of producing 70,091 MT Cold Rolled Coil (CRC) in a month. The company release said that they have surpassed their own last monthly production record of 70,000 MT CRC in 2009.
“This achievement has become a good news at the end of 2019. I am grateful for this achievement. I appreciate the hard work of my friends in the production line and good coordination between functions. This record complements the previous HRC production record that has been achieved”, said Silmy Karim Director of PT KS.
Silmy Karim, welcomes this achievement. “I am very grateful that the various achievements go hand in hand as adding confidence to the steps of the rise of Krakatau Steel slowly to bear tangible results”, said Silmy.
In addition, the achievement of this production record proves the reliability for the reliability for the production equipment and the implementation of good operation. With this production, KT PS can maintain the availability of CRC products in the market.
Currently the import of steel products does not only attack the upstream steel industry, but also the downstream steel industry with low quality and non standard. This has led to erosion of the market share of national steel producers, so industry protection efforts are needed that are applied evenly from upstream to downstream, he added.
Protection applied by the govt of Indonesia in tariff is very important role in the sustainability of national industries as an effort to support & protect domestic producers by controlling the entry of foreign products into domestic market.
“We continue to improve and make improvements. Krakatau Steel is slowly starting to rebuild the synergy of inter-function teams and focus more on customer service. We believe and will do this consistently. We hope that the performance of Krakatau Steel will get better and healthier”, added Silmy.
