The Indonesian thermal coal FoB index for 6,500 and 5,800 GAR coal rose by $2/t w-o-w to $112/t and $102/t respectively on increased demand and reduced supply of high-CV coal globally. However, 4,200 GAR Indonesian coal observed only marginal correction and stood at $64/t FoB, as Chinese buyers went into wait-and-watch mode after the country’s top economic planner hinted that supplies could ease after the Chinese Communist Party’s centenary celebrations on 1 Jul’21.
