The Indonesian government has partially lifted the coal export ban as inventory crunch at state-owned PLN has largely eased, as per reports. The power utility has secured 13.9 mn t of coal and needs 6.1 mn t to reach a minimum of 20 days’ inventory. Fourteen coal-laden vessels have already been allowed to depart Indonesian shores and the country’s government will review the withdrawal again on 12 Jan’22.
