Indonesia’s ferrous scrap imports dropped by 8% to 1.098 mnt in CY’23 in comparison with 1.196 mnt in the CPLY. However, in Dec’23 – imports stood at 117,245 t, marking a significant jump of 57% as against 74,501 t reported in the previous month. In comparison to Dec’22, imports registered a 19% rise against 98,116 t. Hong Kong emerged as the leading exporter with followed by Australia and Singapore.
