Indonesia imported around 1,12,000 t of ferro chrome in Jun’22, up by 15% m-o-m against to 97,300 t in May’22, as per customs data. The increase in imports was mainly because of the rise in shipments from South Africa (109,900 t) which were up by 34% m-o-m. Approximately 4 mnt of stainless steel is produced in Indonesia each year, making it a net importer of ferro chrome. Meanwhile ferro chrome imports rose by 10% y-o-y in H1CY22.
