Indonesia Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has given a week for all miners, including coal companies, to fill data in newly launched two online mining applications.
Failed to meet the requirement will risk having their mining Work and Budget Plan (RKAB)revoked, Kontan reported Friday, Nov 2, 2018, citing Deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arcandra Tahar. Miners will have to stop their production if their annual Work and Budget Plan (RKAB) is revoked by the government.
The Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry today launched Mineral Online Monitoring System (MOMS)and an application to report non-tax mining revenue, e-PNBP, the ministry said in a separate press release published on its website.
MOMS is a real time data management for production and sales of minerals and coal, which will allow the government to control and monitor the country’s production and sales according to the approved plan, the ministry said in the statement. Miners must report their production and sales data through this online application. The application can be accessed internally and by external high level leaders.
“One week. At least Friday next week to fill the data needed for MOMS and e-PNBP. If anyone fail to input the data, they will risk having their Work and Budget Plan revoked,” Tahar said in the launching ceremony, Friday, Nov 2, 2018.
Tahar said the application still rely on data input from the companies. Therefore, to ensure the accuracy, Tahar said, the government will recheck the data.
Indonesia has been seeking to tighten control on the country’s coal and minerals sales to maximise revenue, reducing loss of revenue from illegal mining, and to preserve existing mineable reserve for future use.
With MOMS, the government will get daily online reporting, daily mineral and coal update, and daily update national mineral balance. The application will not only provide recapitulation on production and sales, but also a warning to regulate production rate, the ministry said in the statement.
Mining companies will also be able to access the application to monitor their mining activity and to help them preparing data and reporting their performance to the government, the ministry said.
As for e-PNBP, the web-based application helps companies to calculate non-tax revenue that needs to be paid to the government. The application is equipped with payment and settlement services.
