Indonesia: Coking coal exports down 10% on month to 2.27 mn t in Mar’21

Indonesia’s coking coal exports fell by 10.2% m-o-m and 15.7% y-o-y to 2.27 mn t in Mar’21 amid weather-related disruptions, according to the country’s latest customs data. Notably, however, Indonesian coal exporters have emerged as key beneficiaries of China’s import ban on Australian coal, with Chinese buyers switching suppliers.
