Indonesia: Benchmark coal prices fall to a 7-month low in Dec’22

Indonesia’s benchmark coal price, also known as Harga Batubara Acuan (HBA), fell by $27/t m-o-m to a 7-month low at $281/t in Dec’22. Prices fell amid reduced demand from China due to its Zero Covid policy and sufficient domestic supplies in India. However, on a y-o-y basis, HBA prices are still higher by 76%, notes CoalMint.
