Indonesia’s benchmark coal price, also known as Harga Batubara Acuan (HBA), has been fixed at $215/t for Nov’21, an increase of 33% on the month. The sharp rise in the benchmark coal price came on the back of supply constraints in Indonesia and persistently high demand from China. In the Jan-Nov’21 period, the HBA price has risen by a whopping 184%.
