Indonesia’s benchmark coal price, known as the HBA price (Harga Batubara Acuan), has been fixed at $159.8 /t for Dec’21, down 26% m-o-m. The benchmark price corrected after an eight-month rally since Apr’21. The decline in prices comes in the backdrop of increased domestic coal production in China and sufficient winter procurement made by key importing countires.
