Indonesia becomes China’s largest supplier of semi-finished stainless steel

Indonesia’s semi-finished steel exports to China will reach 3 mnt in 2021 of which 97,000 t are stainless steel sheets, 1.2 mnt are semi-stainless steel products, with carbon steel billets comprising another 1.3 mnt. Indonesia’s share in China’s semis imports rose sharply to 22% in CY’21 from 10% in CY’20. The largest supplier was Dexin Steel Co., a JV of stainless steel major Tsingshan, Delong Holdings and Indonesia’s Morowali Industrial Park.
