Indonesia: Bauxite exports fall by 13% m-o-m in Jan’23

Indonesia’s bauxite exports stood at 0.84 mnt in Jan’23, a fall of 13% m-o-m compared to 0.96 mnt in Dec’22. China was the only importer from Indonesia in the month. Exports of bauxite dropped by 52% from 1.73 mnt in Jan’22. China being the largest importer of bauxite is exploring alternative regions to procure the material after the announcement of an export ban by the Indonesian government.
