Indian steel imports (including stainless steel) dropped by 15% y-o-y in H1FY’26, with stricter trade norms stalling inflows from key regions. Imports totalled 4.90 million tonnes (mnt) in H1FY’26 compared to 5.78 mnt in the year-ago period, as per provisional data maintained with BigMint.
