India’s power demand peaks in April, likely to rise in May-June – Power Ministry

Demand for power across the country has peaked during midsummer and highest demand that was met this year has been recorded at 201 gigawatts (GW) on 26 Apr’22, the Ministry of Power said in a statement. Last year’s peak power demand that was met was recorded at 200.539 GW on 7 Jul’21. The Ministry highlighted that the demand is expected to reach about 215-220 GW in May-Jun.
