India’s Non-Coking Coal Weekly imports up by 9.5%

India’s total Non-coking Coal imports increased by 9.5% to 1.9 MnT during the week ended on 25 Jan, 2014. 

SteelMint assessed that India has imported around 1.9 MnT of Non-coking Coal at the end of week 4, which has increased from 1.7 MnT of preceding week. Out of the total imported Coal, around 67% was Non-coking Coal comes from different destination.

Most of the Non-coking Coal is imported from Indonesia, Australia & South Africa. Out of the total weekly imports, India has imported around 1.5 MnT of Non-coking Coal from Indonesia, about 0.16 MnT from Australia and imported around 0.14 MnT of Non-coking Coal from South Africa.

Non Coking Coal Week 4

Considering 33 major and minor Indian ports, Mundra has imported maximum quantity i.e. around 0.42 MnT of Coal in Week 4. Contribution of quantity was given by Adani Power & Coastal Gujarat Power. Ennore, the second highest quantity port imported 0.23 MnT of Non-coking Coal belongs to kamachi Sponge, Surya Coal, TNEB & Devendran Coal.

SteelMint assessed that Adani Power and Adani Enterprises are the major importers of Non-coking Coal last week. Adani Power has imported about 0.25 MnT of Non-coking Coal from Indonesia. Adani Enterpeises has imported around 0.21 MnT from Indonesia& South Africa.
