India’s non-coking coal imports drop to 2.5-year lows in Aug’25

India’s imports of non-coking coal dropped to 10.87 million tonnes (mnt) in August 2025, down from 11.61 mnt in July, a decrease of around 7% m-o-m. As per BigMint data, non-coking coal imports have dropped to the lowest level since December 2022. Notably, imports fell by over 17% y-o-y from 13.13 mnt in August 2024.
