India’s manganese ore production, has been dropping steadily since 2019, as per SteelMint’s data. From 2.81 mnt in 2019, it dropped to 2.69 mnt in 2020 and 2.46 mnt in 2021. In January-September, 2022, output was at 1.16 mnt. On the other hand, total consumption in this period amounted to 3.87 mnt, underscoring the need for imports.
