India’s KIOCL Floats Tender to Purchase Iron Ore & Buy Back of Pellets

State-owned, KIOCL invites tender for supply of 100,000 DMT iron ore concentrate – haematite from indigenous suppliers. Iron ore procured will be used at its Mangalore-based pellet plant and the respective pellet produced out of the iron ore will be purchased back by the same party.

The suppliers who are willing to purchase equivalent quantity of Pellets produced by KIOCL only need to submit their quotations In the event of the successful bidder preferring to export the pellets so procured, may do so as a Third Party Exporter.

The offer to be kept valid for 20 days from the date of opening of the techno-commercial tenders. Tenders with inadequate validity will be rejected.

Interested parties are asked to quote prices on “Total Delivered Cost” at KIOCL Limited, Pellet Plant, Mangalore Stock Yard” basis, including all taxes & statutory levies as applicable and exclusive of applicable GST.

Last week, southern India based pellet maker – KIOCL has concluded a deal for around 50,000 DMT pellets with 65% Fe content and less than 2% alumina. According to sources the deal was concluded at around USD 136-137/MT, FoB India.

Interested bidders can submit their bids till 04 Sep’18 at 14:00 hrs and techno-commercial bids will open on same day at 15:00 hrs.
