India’s iron ore export shipments fall marginally in May

India’s iron ore export shipments inched down by 1% to 1.64 mnt in May’22 as against 1.67 mnt in Apr, as per SteelMint data. Limited Chinese buying of low-grade iron ore kept Indian exports low.

• Vedanta was the largest exporter at 350,000 t followed by Rungta at 280,000 t.
• China continued to remain the largest importer at 1.51 mnt in May as against 1.54 mnt in the preceding month.
