India’s Flat Steel Exports Up by 8% in Sep’16

As per the provisional customs data,India’s flat steel exports under HS code 7208,7209 and 7225 have registered an increase of 8% in Sep’16 against the previous month of Aug’16. The same stood at 0.41 MnT in Sep’16 against 0.38 MnT in Aug’16.

HS code 7208 covers HRC and plates, 7209 covers CRC and 7225 includes electrical sheets.

If we analyze product-wise exports,HRC/plates exports under the HS code 7208 remain unchanged in both Sep’16 and Aug ‘16 at 0.27MnT . Country’s CRC exports under HS code 7209  have surged by 20%  to 0.12 MnT in Sep’16 against 0.10 MnT in Aug’16.

Whereas electrical sheets exports under HS code 7225 registered the growth of 29% to 0.018 MnT in Sep’16 against 0.014 MnT in Aug’16.

If Y-o-Y analysis is made, the country’s flat steel exports stands at 0.41 MnT in Sep’16 against 0.07 MnT in Sep’15.
