As per the provisional customs data, India’s flat steel exports under HS code 7208,7209 and 7225 have declined by 34% , M-o-M in Nov’16 against the previous month of Oct’16. The same stood at 0.29 MnT in Nov’16 against 0.44 MnT in Oct’16.
HS code 7208 covers HRC and plates, 7209 covers CRC and 7225 includes electrical sheets.
If we analyse product-wise exports, HRC/plates exports under the HS code 7208 has increased by 6% M-o-M to 0.18 MnT in Nov’16 against 0.17 MnT in Oct’16.Whereas nation’s CRC exports under HS code 7209 have plunged by 25% M-o-M to 0.09 MnT in Nov’16 against 0.12 MnT in Oct’16.
Electrical sheets exports from India under HS code 7225 were registered at 0.02 MnT in Nov’16 against 0.15 MnT in Oct’16.
Indian Flat Steel Imports remain stable in Nov’16:
As per custom data, flat steel imports remain stable on M-o-M basis to 0.27 MnT.However on yearly basis flat steel imports declined by 55% in Nov’16 as compare to 0.6 MnT in Nov’15.
If product wise imports are analysed for the month of Nov’16 then, HRC/plates rose by 55% in Nov’16 against Oct’16.Whereas CRC imports remain stable in Nov’16 .
However, electrical sheets imports have moved down by 40% in M-o-M basis and stood at 0.09 MnT in Nov’16.
