India’s finished steel exports increased by 9% to 5.069 mn t the in Apr-Jul’21 period compared with 4.641 mn t in the corresponding period last year, as per provisional data released by the government’s Joint Plant Committee (JPC) today. Better price realisations in exports and sluggish demand in the domestic market resulted in increased exports during the period. At present, Indian mills have been actively exploring export opportunities mainly to Vietnam, the UAE, South Korea and Turkey.
