India’s finished steel exports rose by 9% to 3.557 mn t in Apr-Jun ’21 as against 3.265 mn t in the year-ago period, as per provisional data released by the government’s Joint Plant Committee (JPC) today. Low buying interest in the domestic market due to a spike in Covid cases shifted the focus of Indian mills towards exports. India was a net exporter of finished steel in Apr-Jun ’21.
