Indian steel mills churned out 8.518 mn t of crude steel in May ’21, up by 3% m-o-m compared to 8.30 mn t in Apr ’21, as per provisional data released by the government’s Joint Plant Committee (JPC) today.
Indian mills are ramping up production levels in order to compensate for the shortage caused due to diversion of oxygen to hospitals amid the ongoing Covid crisis.
